As long as there are children living in poverty and facing inequity, every day is Red Nose Day

Child poverty has long been a crisis, but right now it is nothing short of an emergency. A gift of any size can protect children facing poverty from the ripple effects of COVID-19.

We need your support to help give children living in the most vulnerable communities across the U.S. and around the world a chance at a better life and a brighter future.

Even when the unpredictable happens, like the crisis of COVID-19, your ongoing support helps give children living in the most vulnerable communities across the U.S. and around the world a chance at a better life and a brighter future.

A monthly gift goes even further, because giving a little each month adds up to big change.

When you give monthly, you’ll also become a member of The Sandbox, Red Nose Day’s community of monthly givers.

Complete your gift to make a difference.

Hi NAME,

I’m fundraising for Red Nose Day this year to take a stand for children and families impacted by the unprecedented crisis of COVID-19. If you haven’t heard of Red Nose Day - it’s an annual campaign that raises to help children living in poverty here in America and around the world. Now more than ever, vulnerable children need our help.

Insert a brief description of how you’re fundraising.

Examples:
- To make things interesting, if I reach my fundraising goal of $XXX, I’ll also subject myself to watch all 7 Harry Potter movies in one sitting and live-tweet the whole thing!
- I’m holding a virtual yoga class / happy hour party on MM/DD for anyone who donates to my Red Nose Day fundraiser!
- This month is my birthday/anniversary and instead of presents, I’m asking if you would make a donation to my fundraising page for Red Nose Day instead.

Your support would mean a lot to me because even though many of us are able to shelter and self-isolate safely, the ripple effects of COVID-19 will be devastating for children and communities facing poverty. So, if you’re able to, please make a donation to my virtual fundraiser and help me reach my goal.

A little change from each of us can mean a world of difference for the children who need it most.

The money we raise will help provide much needed meals, shelter, medical supplies, educational materials and more of the essentials every kid needs.

Please give what you can!

Thank you in advance and stay safe,
YOUR NAME

Talking points, facts and stats

Every child is filled with potential—to do good, be great, and give back to their communities.

But for children in poverty, the odds are stacked against them. Long before COVID-19 struck, millions of children in poverty here in America and around the world faced an uphill battle towards a better life and a brighter future. The numbers speak for themselves.

In the US:
- Nearly 1 in 6 children live in poverty, or on less than $25,750 annually in a family of four.
- Over 1.5 million public school students experienced homelessness in the 2017-2018 school year.
- More than 12 million children in the United States live in "food insecure" homes in which families don't regularly have enough food to eat.

Globally:
- About 663 million children are deprived of one or more basic needs like food, shelter, safe drinking water, sanitation, healthcare or education.
- Every year, 3.1 million children under the age of 5 die (8,500 children per day) due to poor nutrition.
- 258 million children and adolescents of school age not enrolled in school. An estimated 22% of these children are elementary school aged.

That’s why I’m fundraising for Red Nose Day to help #ChangeTheStory for children.

How Every Donation Makes a Difference

When you share your fundraising page, let your supporters know that a little change from each of us can mean a world of difference for the children who need it most.

Here’s how a making donation to my Red Nose Day fundraiser can help change lives:

- $5 is enough to help pay for medical supplies for a doctor’s visit on a mobile clinic.
- $10 can help provide at least 100 meals secured by our partner Feeding America on behalf of local member food banks.
- $20 could fill a refugee child’s backpack with school supplies, giving them the tools they need to succeed in the classroom.
- $50 can deliver essentials that keep kids learning while out of school, like books, activities and supplies
- $100 could provide a night of immediate care for a young person facing homelessness including food, clothing, shelter, and medical care.
