As long as there are children living in poverty and facing inequity, every day is Red Nose Day

Child poverty has long been a crisis, but right now it is nothing short of an emergency. A gift of any size can protect children facing poverty from the ripple effects of COVID-19.

We need your support to help give children living in the most vulnerable communities across the U.S. and around the world a chance at a better life and a brighter future.

As long as there are children living in poverty and facing inequity, every day is Red Nose Day

Even when the unpredictable happens, like the crisis of COVID-19, your ongoing support helps give children living in the most vulnerable communities across the U.S. and around the world a chance at a better life and a brighter future.

A monthly gift goes even further, because giving a little each month adds up to big change.

When you give monthly, you’ll also become a member of The Sandbox, Red Nose Day’s community of monthly givers.

Top 7 Moments From the Greatest Red Nose Day Special Ever

News

It’s been a nearly a week since the fifth annual Red Nose Day special aired and we’re still celebrating.

The night was filled with star-studded musical performances, laugh-out-loud comedy sketches, and touching stories that inspired America to raise nearly $40 million to end child poverty.

So, without further ado, here are some of our favorite highlights from the greatest Red Nose Day ever:

7. Getting Up Close and Personal

SNL stars Colin Jost and Michael Che will do anything for Red Nose Day. When Louise (played by Kate McKinnon, who you might remember as a teacher from our Joke-Ha-Thon kickoff video) ups the ante for her office fundraiser, her co-stars are compelled to get a little too friendly... for the kids, of course.

6. Music to Our Ears (and Hearts)

There is no denying the power of music, which is why inspiring performances from some of today’s greatest musicians made this year’s Red Nose Day Special so… well, special.

Like when Blake Shelton performed his top hit “God’s Country.”

or when Chrissy Metz sang “I’m Standing With You,” we all stood.

and when Josh Groban and the Voices of Hope Children’s Choir delivered a beautiful rendition of “Smile”

5. Milo Ventimiglia’s Trip to Kenya

Just a few weeks ago, Milo Ventimiglia traveled to Kenya to see how your Red Nose Day donations are saving and changing lives. There, he met an 8-year-old girl named Agnes who had to work in the trash dumps to help her family make a living. His trip was heartbreaking and inspiring, and had us grabbing more tissues than the season finale of This Is Us. Milo wrote a blog to recount his trip, which you can read here.

4. Keeping it Reel with The Cast of The Good Place

One of our favorite moments of comic relief during the Special (wink wink) featured the cast of The Good Place and some hilarious Season 3 bloopers. They took us all to a very good place.

3. Pop Quiz!

The cast of Hollywood Game Night really put the POP in pop quiz. Jane Lynch, Kristen Bell, Sean Hayes, and more put their knowledge to the test during a game of Popped Quiz, where the winning team won some life-changing cash for children in need.

2. Doo-et To It

The fun continued when the cast took to the mic and really put the DO in duet. We don’t know about you guys, but this might be our new favorite way of singing some tunes.

1. These Celebs Make Our Dreams Come True

It was the most excellent, most celeb-filled, most Red Nose Day lip sync video ever, and it truly made our dreams come true. Plus, Hall & Oats popped in for what might be our favorite cameo of all time.

We can’t thank you enough for tuning in and making the fifth annual Red Nose Day Special a night to remember. If you missed out on the fun, you can tune into our social channels to watch more highlights.

And if you’re feeling re-inspired by all of these amazing moments, you can still become a monthly donor to show your support all year round. Together we can end child poverty – one nose at a time.
